The Texas Institute for Teacher Education is
committed to providing high-quality professional development
opportunities for K-12 educators and administrators. All
coursework is online, self-paced, and offered at no or low cost to
program participants. The objective of the Professional
Development Program is to prepare instructional leaders for
effective service in 21st century public and private schools.
Program participants develop the pedagogical expertise and skills
needed to improve learning outcomes for students with diverse
cultural, linguistic, and exceptional learning needs.
Professional development coursework is available within the following domains: standards-based instructional planning and assessment; individual learning differences; development and characteristics of learners; classroom management and positive behavioral interventions and supports; language development and second language acquisition; principles, theories, and foundations of professional practice; and professional roles and responsibilities of general, special, and bilingual educators.
